This is new segment to my Tumblr and I think it’s an important one. I’m going to call this the grit vs. glamour.
Of course my job is pretty glamorous but sometimes it can be a little gritty too.
One definition of gritand the particular one I’m referring to is: unpleasant or painful duty.
And glamour: alluring beauty or charm
This is the grit: yesterday I had to carry the items pictured above 12 NYC blocks. Why you might ask? Great question because it was the cab switch over time. Therefore I could not get a cab after I finished my showroom appointments. Then once I finally got car service to pick me up at my last appointment I had to carry them up 4 flights of stairs. Today will probably be the same.
However…. Tomorrow is shoot day. And with 2 racks full of ready to wear and 3 gorgeous blonde models over 5’10 it’s going to be a glamour day. Stay tuned for images.
This isn’t ment to be a complaint just some real life insite on the day to day of a stylist.
